I did my training at Bristol, West of England College of Art. Since then I have taught in schools and Colleges of Further Education, and now run private classes. Look under News and Events for more details.
The themes in my work change and weave in and out of allotments, huts and sheds, trees, coastlines, houses, angels, and , more recently, pieces of glass and china and ancient figures, brooches and terra cotta figures.
I have finished a series of lino cuts of Bath Churches- the Victorian architecture fascinates me.
I am currently working on some new etchings of the coast, as well as designing some new lino cuts.
The method varies from collagraph, lino, monotype and etching, as well as drypoint and carborundum.
Changing direction and technique is stimulating for me, but I always return to my main love which is etching.
In printmaking, the process as well as the image is important, but the lifting of the paper from the first print is like opening the Christmas stocking as a child.
Will this be what I want, or a deep disappointment?
The calligraphy I have recently done this year has been connected with colour, the celebration of it in relation to writing and image.
